Stallion Service Contract

This agreement was made and entered this ______day of ____________, 20___ by and between __________________________________ of _____ _________________________________ (Phone #) ______________, hereinafter referred to as “Mare owner”, and Troy and Lana Bollers and/or Agent of Redwater Alberta, hereninafter referred to as the “Stallion owner”. A Photocopy of said mare’s papers must accompany this contract.

Now therefore, it is agreed as follows:

1) The mare owner agrees to allow a veterinary of the stallion owner’s choice to check this mare for normal breeding condition, and allows such other veterinary services to be performed for the mare (and/or foal) as is deemed necessary including deworming, treating for infection and pregnancy checking. This is to be at the owner’s expense.

2) The mare owner shall provide the stallion owner with a copy of the mare’s registration papers, a negative coggins test certificate, and a veterinarian’s health certificate. Both certificates are to be issued within 1 month prior to the arrival of the mare(s) at the breeding farm, indicating the mare(s) is reproductively sound, free of communicable diseases, has been dewormed and vaccinated. This is in the best interest of all clients.

3) During the time the mare is in custody of Troy and Lana Bollers, they shall not be liable for any sickness, disease, or injury which may be suffered by mare (and/or foal).

4) The stallion owner shall provide the following services inclusive in the fee; breeding of said mare(s), 1 ultra sound, 30 days mare and/or foal care.

5) The stallion owner shall manage mare and stallion in a proper manner for maintaining normal health and breeding conditions.

6) If the said stallion should become unable to service said mare(s) the service fee will be returned and this contract will become void.

7) A live foal guarantee will be honored for the following breeding season only. Terms of Live Foal Guarantee are as follows:

a) A live foal shall be defined as one that stands and nurses after foaling.

b) Notification of death must be received within 48hrs.

c) Breeders certificate and/or application for foal registration must be returned immediately.

d) All expenses and service fee have been paid in full on said mare from previous breeding.

e) Guarantee is made only to the mare owner at the time of breeding

8) Upon receipt of a veterinary certificate indicating the said mare(s) is pregnant and all service fees and expenses are paid in full the stallion owner shall sign the breeders certificate and/or application for registration for a foal as a result from this service.

9) In the event of an emergency, the mare owner will be contacted. If the mare owner cannot be contacted, the stallion owner is authorized to contact: ______________________________Ph. __________________________DVM. Or failing him any other veterinarian.

Service fee: $500.00 Plus booking fee: $250.00 Total payable:$ 750.00 (Service fee includes 30 day mare care and LFG)
Multiple mare discount.
Mare care $7.00 per day wet/dry (payable when mare leaves the premises).
(Only required if mare is required to stay longer than the 30 days).

Troy and Lana Bollers guarantees a return breeding for the following season either for the said mare or her substitute should a live foal (defined as one that stands and sucks unassisted) not result from this mating. This is to be confirmed by a written statement from a qualified veterinarian.

Either parties without the consent of the other shall not transfer this contract.

Transported Semen Contract:

This agreement was made and entered this ______day of ____________, 20___ by and between __________________________________ of _____ _________________________________ (Phone #) ______________, hereinafter referred to as “Mare owner”, and Troy and Lana Bollers and/or Agent of Redwater Alberta, hereninafter referred to as the “Stallion owner”. Now therefore, it is agreed as follows:

1. The stallion owner shall expect to ship during the month of ____________, 20___.

2. The mare owner shall pay the stallion owner a stallion service fee of $750.00 of which, $250.00 must be paid as non-refundable booking fee upon the signing of this contract. The mare owner must pay the balance of the service fee prior to shipping.

3. The stallion owner shall provide the following services inclusive in the fee, the collection of the stallion, (1) shipment will be included in the cost, procedural guidelines will be included to increase success, a collection/insemination certificate will be included with each shipment in accordance with AQHA rule #209.

4. The mare owner is responsible for all other transportation costs of semen, veterinarian services and any other costs deemed necessary for the mare.

5. A live foal guarantee will be honoured for the following breeding season only. Terms of the LFG are as follows:

a. A live foal shall be defined as one that stands and nurses after foaling.

b. Notification of death must be received within 72 hours.

c. Breeders certificate and/or application for foal registration must be returned immediately.

d. All expenses and service fee have been paid in full on said mare from previous breeding.

e. Guarantee is made only to the mare owner at the time of breeding.

6. If the mare dies or becomes unfit for breeding this contract may be transferable, at the discretion of the stallion owner and agreed to in writing by both parties.

7. The mare owner bears all risk for the mare, the stallion owner will bear all risk for the stallion.

8. If the said stallion should become unable to service said mare the service fee will be returned and this contract will become void.

9. Upon receipt of a veterinary certificate indicating said mare is pregnant and all service fees and expenses are paid in full the stallion owner shall sign the breeders certificate and/or application for registration for a foal as a result from this service

PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES FOR BREEDING WITH TRANSPORTED SEMEN

1. Make sure that your vet is currently doing reproductive work and notify him/her of your breeding plans.

2. Make sure that you are aware of current AQHA rules. (See Rule #209).

3. Fill out and return enclosed contract, include the mare’s registration certificate and the booking fee.

4. Make sure you have an old gelding or nearby stallion to tease your mare with and begin teasing approximately one month prior to the projected breeding date to establish her estrous cycle.

5. Establish and notify us of the method of transportation you wish to use. Remember the schedules change on weekends and holidays. (FedEx is always a good choice).

6. The remainder of the stud fee must be paid prior to the shipment of semen.

7. You call on the first day of the mare’s heat so that we may plan the collection.

8. You or your vet contacts us to tell us the day the semen will be required. We need notice at least 30 hours prior to shipment.

9. We ship to your mare on the designated day, via the requested mode of transportation. We will call you to confirm shipment and arrival time.

10. Your vet inseminates the mare at the earliest possible time after the semen arrives. You must use the semen within 48 hours after collection.

11. A collection/Insemination Certificate is included with the shipment. IT MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO AQHA WITHIN 15 DAYS.

12. First Shipment is prepaid.

13. The container must be returned to us within three days.

14. Breeders certificates will be issued upon receipt, verification of pregnancy and all service fees and expenses are paid in full.
